2 month and 3 month update

Hello everyone! Sorry it's been so long...

Well motherhood is a very busy thing so I am extremely late in writing the 2 month update this post. Oops! So I will just combine the two and three month post together!

So what all has happened since MadeLynn has turned 2 months old? Quite a lot actually!

At the beginning of May we traveled to Missouri and Colorado to visit family. She was such a trooper and an excellent traveler.

She met her extended family on my side and slept her longest stretch (5 1/2 hours!) at Nana and Papa's house.
During this trip she changed so much. She suddenly started smiling all of the time and she grew out of her 3 month clothes! She began staying awake longer in the day and she started recognizing things. It was in Colorado that she made friends with her Ladybug toy (a favorite toy still). My parents absolutely loved having her around.

Breast feeding is going very well! MadeLynn has been such a trooper with all the traveling and she's learned to nurse in many positions and in many odd places. She's a quick eater. She only nurses for 4-7min.

MadeLynn turned two months old on May 25th. At her two month doctor's visit she weighed 12lbs 7lbs and was 23 inches long.
Poor thing had to have her two month shots and she screamed a scream I had never heard before. Luckily I could nurse her right away and she calmed right down. She acted a bit off the rest of the day and I had to give her Tylenol for the first time.
Memorial day was her second holiday. I dressed her in an adorable outfit and we celebrated by eating a fabulous grilled meal at home.
It was around this time that she really started responding to faces and she would follow me all over a room. She would turn to the sound of my voice and smile; such a rewarding thing for a mother.
MadeLynn began giggling and responding to funny things right around her 2 month birthday. She has the most adorable and unique smile; her eyes disappear when she smiles.

It's crazy to see how much she has changed in just 2 months. I feel like she is a totally different baby now!

She loved to be in the Moby wrap and would only go to sleep while in it for about two weeks. Luckily that habbit has been broken.
We went out to eat as a family to Chilli's which was the first time we went out on a date and MadeLynn had stayed awake the whole time! She was a bit grumpy towards the end but it was her nap time and for a tired baby, she did rather well.
The first week of June was packing week because we were moving from our 2 bedroom apartment in Champaign to our 3 bedroom apartment in Urbana. It may have been only a 15 minute move but it was a lot of hard work. Jonathan had to work the entire time so MadeLynn and I were left to do all the packing and cleaning on our own...and she wasn't much help.
She was so smily and giggly even though I was leaving her alone a lot so I could pack and unpack.

I would take about an hour for every hour I worked to play with her. This momma felt so guilty leaving her alone but I think she enjoyed it. She's stubbornly independent like her momma.

I made lots of trips back in forth in the car from the old place to the new place. Poor girl had to be in the car so much but I think it finally got her use to her carseat.
MadeLynn was such an amazing baby the whole time. But little lovebug took all of her naps and would entertain herself while I was busy. I could hear her giggling and talking to her toys anytime I was in another room. She's such an independent little girl!

Once we were all settled in, we drove up to Minnesota for the baptism of my godson, Karson Gene.  It had been an exhausting week but we were happy to be out of the old apartment and eager to meet the newest member to our family.
Yet again she was amazing in the car. Thank goodness for that ladybug toy and that lion toy. Without them, I do not know how we would get MadeLynn to stay in a carseat.

Karson was absolutely adorable!

Karson made MadeLynn feel HUGE! MadeLynn was never cuddly or your typical newborn (Karson was). It made me sad because I never got that new baby time. Oh well....she's had personality since day one so she's always been so much fun! Just look how adorable she is holding her cousin!

MadeLynn's oldest cousin, Ethan, was so in love with her. He was so cute and attentive and she would smile, talk and laugh at him.He asked so many questions about her and wanted to hold her a lot. He's such a cutie.

That Sunday was the baptism at an 8am service. Our church at home starts at 2pm so MadeLynn was not use to being out at that time; that is usually her nap time. But she was awesome, all the kids were.

In Minnesota MadeLynn started grabbing things. Every time we go somewhere she seems to learn how to do new things there. The most awesome thing she did was sleep 8+ hours in a crib!! It was so refreshing to sleep until 8:30p!

So here we are to today...it's MadeLynn's 3 month birthday!!!

She weighs 14lbs 1oz and is 24inches long. She wears size two diapers and 6 month or 6-9 month clothing. She talks all the time and is always smiling. She is such a happy baby.
She got her first cold this past weekend and her and I spent 3 days recovering. Lucky for her, she gets breast milk which is already producing what is needed to fight off the illness so she recovered a lot sooner that I did. On a good note, being sick made her an even better sleeper and I am hoping the two 2 hour naps a day she has been taking and permanent!

She now consistently sleeps with a 6-8 hour stretch at first then she will wake up 2-3 hours later, eat and go back to sleep and without fail, she wakes up at 6:30a every morning.

We are having spit-up issues lately. I can go through up to 6 bibs a day! I didn't even think I would use bibs at her age; boy am I grateful for them now.

Well that is everything from since she turned 1 month to since she turned 3 months. I cannot believe I have a baby who is 3 months old...that sounds so big!

How am I liking motherhood you ask?
I love it! I feel like I got the hang of it really quickly and that her and I bonded right away. She is such a happy baby and she makes this job feel like what it is; an absolute blessing!
Here I am 3 months postpartum. I cannot wait to start working out this month. I am eager to get a jogging stroller so I can go for runs/walks with MadeLynn.
